Create Multiple Currencies for HubSpot Deals

You can make multiple currencies in HubSpot to assign the correct currency if the event currency is not followed when deals are created.

Add a Currency in HubSpot

  1. In HubSpot, go to Settings > Account Management > Account Defaults.

  2. Click on the Currency tab, then click Add Currency.
    ​

  3. Click the dropdown to choose the currency and enter the exchange rate. Then click Save.
    ​

    After you click Save, the new currency will now be added to the list of available currencies.

Change the Currency of a Deal and Line Item

Note: If you want all the deals to be in the target currency, then the steps below must done for each deal.

  1. Go to CRM > Deals and open the deal

  2. In the deal, click Actions, then Click View all properties.

  3. Search for the Currency field and select the target currency. Then, click Save.

  4. Go back to deal record and on the right hand side, look for Line items then click Edit.
    ​

  5. Click Add Prices to add your target currency's pricing.

    • You can either choose the price from the custom exchange rate you set previously, or set a custom price.

    • Click Confirm.
      ​

  6. Click Save.
    ​

  7. Select Update deal amount.

Create a Workflow to Update Deal Currency

If you want to automate updating the currency field for all deals in your pipeline, you can create the workflow in HubSpot to ensure that all the deals will have your target currency.

Note: Keep in mind that the workflow will only update the currency in the deal, not the line item. The line items need to be edited manually.

  1. Create a workflow from scratch.

    • Go to Automation > Workflows

    • Click Create workflow

    • Select From Scratch

  2. Select the met filter criteria trigger.

  3. Click Deal properties as the criteria, then choose Pipeline.
    ​

  4. Choose the pipeline that has the deals that will be updated. Click the Next tab and then click Next > Save and Continue.

  5. Add an action.

    • Go to CRM

    • Click Edit record

  6. Under Property to edit, select Currency.

    • From there, you can set the currency to the target currency when a new deal comes in.

    • Click Save.

  7. Select the currency from the Choose a Value dropdown. Click Save.
    ​

  8. Click Review and turn on. A slide menu will appear. Review the workflow and click Turn on Workflow.
    ​

  9. Once you are done, you should be all set! When someone buys a ticket, the amount will instantly convert to the target currency.
