Customize Lead Generation and Shared Lead Info
If you sell exhibitor booths in different tiers (for example Platinum, Gold, and Basic), lead generation is one of the easiest ways to make each package feel distinct. Most lead settings live per booth, so you can dial them up or down to match what each exhibitor paid for. This article covers what each setting does, how they interact, and what to enable or disable per package.
Lead Generation Settings Per Booth
Most lead generation controls are set per booth, so you configure them individually based on that exhibitor's package. These five toggles in each booth's Lead Collection section are the core settings on how leads are added to the booth.
Settings to Add Leads
Count Every Booth Visitor As A Lead — Every attendee who enters the booth appears in the leads list. Recommended on.
Allow Reps to Auto Generate Leads — Captures a lead automatically when an attendee sends a booth chat or messages a rep directly. Recommended on if Count Every Booth Visitor As A Lead is not turned on.
Allow Reps To Manually Add Leads — Lets booth staff add leads by hand and scan QR codes/badges in the attendee app. If disabled, the button to add leads in the ERC will be hidden, but in the app, the button is still visible and they will get an message that "Lead retrieval is not allowed for this exhibitor" when they try to save a lead. If disabled, actions such as clicking from the Documents & Links section, clicking the CTA button and sending a chat message will not add them as a lead. This is the master switch for rep-initiated capture and attendee -actions inside the booth capture (see interactions below).
Other Attendee Actions That Them As Leads
The actions below do not have settings, but if Count Every Booth Visitor As A Lead is turned off, they can still be added a leads by doing these actions, given that Allow Reps To Manually Add Leads is enabled.
Download a document - this can be a file download or link click from the Documents & Links section. Clicking the offer link or any other link that is not in the Documents & Links section does not count them as a lead.
Click the Call to Action button
Settings to View / Download Leads List
Allow Reps To See Other Reps' Leads — Every rep sees leads their teammates captured, not just their own.
Show 'Download Lead' Button in My Booth — Exhibitors can export their leads list as a CSV from the Leads tab in the ERC. If this is disabled, exhibitors can still download the CSV from the attendee app.
If you're offering a premium tier, it's best to have all these toggles turned on.
How the Settings Interact
These rules trip people up, so build your packages around them:
If Allow Reps To Manually Add Leads is OFF, then Allow Reps to Auto Generate Leads will NOT work, even if it's toggled on. Manual is effectively the master switch for rep-driven capture and attendee-action in the booth capture (chat, DM, download doc, click CTA, manual add, scanning).
However, if Manually Add Leads is OFF but Count Every Booth Visitor As A Lead is ON, visitor-counting still works. So a low tier can still get passive "who visited" data without any active capture tools.
If Count Every Booth Visitor As A Lead is ON, the setting for Allow Reps to Auto Generate Leads is disregarded, as they are already added as a lead before they do any other action inside the booth.
Clicking from Documents & Links or clicking the Call to Action button adds the attendee as a lead if Count Every Booth Visitor As A Lead is OFF and Allow Reps To Manually Add Leads is ON.
If all settings are ON, but the attendee has chosen to hide their information from exhibitors, they will still be added as a lead, but only their name will show.
To give a booth no lead generation at all, turn off all five Lead Collection toggles and turn off the booth's Call to Action button. If you leave the CTA button on while lead retrieval is disabled, attendees who click it see a "Lead retrieval is not allowed for this exhibitor" message.

Choose What Information is Shared to Exhibitors
Under the Settings button → Booth → Shared Attendee Data, these determine how much attendee information will be shared to exhibitors.
Share toggle — Toggle which ticket-holder fields (email, organization, etc.) exhibitors receive. At a minimum they always get the attendee's name.
Lead Page visibility — Turn on the green eye icon for fields you want reps to see on-screen right after scanning an attendee in the app, rather than waiting for the report. Enable the field visibility if you need exhibitors to see the attendee's answer while they interact.
Apply these settings to all exhibitors — Turn this on if you're sharing the same data to all exhibitors.
Edit settings for: — Choose the exhibitor from the dropdown and customize the share settings for each exhibitor. This can be used if you have Apply these settings to all exhibitors disabled.
Allow Attendee to Hide Their Information — Turn this on to show the "Hide my information from exhibitors" setting in the attendee's profile. If turned off, attendees won't see this setting. Currently it applies to the virtual event hub, not the attendee app. If they chose to hide their information and they enter the booth or do an action in the booth, they will still be added as a lead, but only their name will show.
View and Download Leads
In the ERC's Leads tab and attendee app's leads list, some of the attendee's personal information will be displayed. Name will always be visible. Email address and phone number can also be visible if you're sharing these data. Other ticket holder information will not appear in the view, but should be available in the downloadable CSV file.
Note: As an event admin, you may still see the email and phone number field even if you're not sharing this information to exhibitors.
