Postponing an Event

If for any reason, you've had to push back your event, there are a few easy, but necessary steps that need to be taken.

The first is deciding if you will be postponing your event (a new date has NOT been set yet) or if you will be rescheduling your event (there is a confirmed new date set).

If your event is being postponed, you'll want to:

Update your event site

The best practices for updating your site include:

  1. If using event ticketing, change the "Buy Tickets" button to read "Postponed"

  2. In the Event Description area, add a sentence letting site visitors know that the event has been postponed.

Contact your Attendees

From the Engage --> Send Email page, you can send an email right to everyone who has purchased a ticket to your event. You do NOT have to add them as contacts.

Click on "Create New" to begin drafting your email.

Click the "To" field to select "All Attendees/Buyers" as your recipients. Create & send your email in the fields below.

Mark your event as Postponed

On the top of your Admin Console, click the "Publish" button & choose "Postpone" from the dropdown menu. This will mark the date & time of your event as Postponed on your event page & on the Accelevents event listing site.
