Attendees in an in-person event can now check in to sessions through a kiosk using an iPad. This makes check-in faster and hassle-free. Attendees can scan their QR code or search for their registration to check in to sessions through the Kiosk.
To use this feature, download the latest version of the Admin App to your iPad.
Important Notes:
⚠️ If an attendee joins the session through the attendee app, they will be marked as checked in.
If you need to monitor which attendees are at the venue, we suggest using Admin App or Staff Portal session check ins. When they arrive at the venue and you see that they are already checked in (from the attendee app), check them out and check them in again so that you'll see them in the report as checked in to the venue.
If you want to use the Kiosk, you can instruct your attendees to check out and check in from the kiosk (if they have joined the session in the attendee app), but you may risk getting inaccurate data if they do not all follow this.
Another option is to create 2 sessions, a hidden session that will be used only for attendance (it's not going to be hidden for session check in), and another public session for attendees.
Session check ins and check outs through the Admin App, Kiosk and Staff Portal can be tracked in the Session Check-In/Check-Out Report in Analytics > Downloadable Reports.
Recurring events are not accessible through the admin app.
Kiosk is available only for iPad / Tablets.
Before You Begin
Before you begin make sure you've already done the following:
✅ Adjust your Kiosk settings / design based on your needs and goals
✅ Enable Kiosk Mode in the admin app
Kiosk Session Check In
The Kiosk can have 2 session check in options: scan the attendee's QR code or search for the attendee.
Session Check In with QR Code
Click Check in with QR Code from the touch screen
Hold up your QR code to face the camera. This will scan your code.
Note: You can also switch to the device's front camera if needed
Click Check In. That's it! You're done checking in to the session!
Session Check In with Search
Click Check in with Search from the touchscreen
Enter your information (e.g., full name)
Select your profile
Click Check In. That's it! You're done checking in to the session!
Session Check-Out
If you need to record whether an attendee stayed for the entire session or not, you can require them to check out of the session when they exit the session venue.
To check out of the session from the kiosk, scan the QR code or search for your name, then click the Check-Out button.
Session Check-In and Check-Out Analytics
Checked In / Out Analytics for Admin App or Staff Portal
In Analytics > Downloadable Reports, select the Session Check-In/Check-Out Report. This report will show you session check ins and check outs done through the Admin App, Kiosk, and Staff Portal. This will include all sessions and the time logs are in chronological order. This is the report you'll need to know if attendees have entered / exited the session venue.
Important Notes:
This report will not include check ins and check outs through the virtual event hub, attendee app and self-check in through session QR scan.
⚠️ If an attendee joins the session through the attendee app, they will be marked as checked in.

This report will show the basic attendee information, which session they checked in / out, the time stamp, which team member's account was logged in to perform the check in / out, and where exactly they were checked in through the source column.
"Desktop" source means the action came from the Staff Portal.
The source that contains "KIOSK" means the action came from the Kiosk.
If it's just "CHECKEDIN" or "CHECKEDOUT" then that done through the Admin App.
Check In / Out Analytics Per Session
In Analytics > Sessions, click the download icon at the end to see the list of attendees that joined the session. You can also click on a session to view the list. This shows everyone who has joined the session, you'll see the check in / out times but there is no source column here so you won't know how they checked in.
Check In Analytics Per Attendee
To know which sessions an attendee joined, you can go the Attendees > Attendee Management. Open the attendee record and navigate to the Session tab to see which sessions they attended, and session they registered for but has not attended. This will not show their check in /out time, or check in source, it's just a list of sessions and engagement data.
Session Check In Timeline
Also in Attendee Management, you can go to the User Activity tab to see what activities the attendee has done. If an attendee has checked in to a session, it will be logged here, however check outs are not logged. This will show other activities as well, not just for sessions.
