Have Attendees Scan a QR Code to Check-In to Sessions
Through the Attendee app, attendees can scan the session QR code to check in to an in-person session. This makes entry to in-person sessions a more seamless experience for both event organizers and attendees.
Notes:
⚠️ If an attendee joins the session through the attendee app's agenda, they will be marked as checked in.
If you need to monitor which attendees are at the venue, we suggest using Admin App or Staff Portal session check ins. When they arrive at the venue and you see that they are already checked in (from the attendee app), check them out and check them in again so that you'll see them in the report as checked in to the venue.
Or you can create 2 sessions, a hidden session that will be used only for attendance (it's not going to be hidden for session check in), and another public session for attendees.
There is no option for attendees to scan a QR code to check out of the session. If you need to check out attendees, turn on Kiosk mode in the iPad admin app and have them check out from there.
This feature is only available for In-Person and Hybrid Events.
Allow Attendee Self Check-In
To set this up, open the session for editing and turn on the toggle to Allow Attendee Self Check-In in Advanced Settings. A unique QR code will appear at the bottom, which event admins can download, print, and then position at the door. They can also include the QR code in their presentation for attendees to scan using the Attendee app.
Self Check-In to Sessions By Scanning the QR Code
Attendees using the Attendee app can click the QR Scan button from the event's home page. This will launch the camera so they can scan the session QR code. After scanning, they will be considered as "Checked In" to the session.
