What's the Difference Between Payment and Registration Status?
The Payment status refers to whether the attendee has paid for their ticket or if they have a balance to settle. The Registration Status refers to whether an attendee has access to the event or not.
Payment Status
In the Order, you'll see a Payment Status column. This will easily allow you to know whether the registrant has any pending balance, fully paid or if refunded.
In the first line (for the buyer), you'll see the status for the whole order. Like in the example below, the order payment status is Partial as 2 out the 3 tickets are fully paid. When you expand the order, you'll see the line items and the individual item's payment status.
Order Payment Status | Definition |
Paid | All the items in the order are fully paid. This applies to free or complimentary tickets, tickets fully paid with cash, check or credit card. |
Unpaid | The event admin chose the "Unpaid" payment type, or the registrant chose to be invoiced (pay later) during registration. |
Partial | At least one of the items in the order has a partial or no payment.
Example:
|
Refunded | All the items in the order are fully refunded. |
Partially Refunded | At least one of the items in the order is partially or fully refunded.
Example:
|
Canceled | All the items in the order are cancelled. Note that it is possible to cancel an order without fully refunding it. |
Registration Status
In the Order, the Registration Status column is available for each line item. You can refer to this status to know whether an attendee has access to the event or none.
Registration Status | Definition |
Registered | The order is fully paid. This applies to cash, check, and credit card transactions. It also applies to free tickets. |
Canceled | The attendee's event access has been canceled. So even if they are paid but the registration status is canceled, they won't be able to enter the event. |
