Tiered challenges offer a strategic way to guide attendees through your event while maximizing engagement and participation. Unlike standalone activities, a tiered structure creates a clear pathway, where completing one level unlocks access to the next.

For instance, attendees might start at Tier 1 by watching sessions to gain foundational knowledge. Only after completing this step would they progress to Tier 2, with a challenge to complete the survey, and then it progresses to Tier 3 where they are challenged to visit all the booths. This sequential approach ensures that attendees engage with your event holistically, promoting deeper interaction and sustained participation.

How Does It Work?

In the gamification board, the tiers will appear in chronological order in the Challenges menu. The second and succeeding tiers will be locked until the attendee completes all the challenges in the first tier. If an attendee has not completed all of the challenges in tier 1 and starts with the challenges in the next tiers, their points and rewards for the succeeding tiers won't populate until they complete everything in tier 1. Every time they finish a tier, they can be rewarded with badges displayed on the gamification board and their profile.

Important Notes:

  • Continuing Education challenges cannot be added to tiers.

  • Tiers can no longer be edited after the event opens.

Start With Challenges

Before creating tiers, you must create your challenges first. Continuing Education challenges cannot be included in tiers.

If this is the first tier, then no prerequisite tier choices will appear.

Challenges

This menu allows you to select which standard challenges must be completed in this tier to move to the next one.

Note that if a challenge is included in a tier, it will no longer be listed as an individual challenge on the gamification board. Instead, it will show as a challenge under the tier.

Tiered Challenges Example

In this example, we have 4 challenges to watch the sessions, and we grouped those challenges into Tier 1. When attendees complete all 4 session challenges, they can move on to Tier 2 wherein they need to submit the quiz. After submitting the quiz, Tier 3 will be unlocked where the challenge is to answer the survey. After they submit, the last tier would be to visit all the booths. Note that the "Pass the Quiz" challenge is not included in any tier as this is a Continuing Education challenge.

The attendee below has completed 3 out of 4 challenges in Tier 1. Clicking the tier will show the breakdown for each challenge and the badges/rewards available. The attendee got 3 vouchers for completing 3 session challenges. And once they watch the last session, they will earn the last voucher and the 2 other rewards for completing tier 1.

Once everything is completed, a green check mark will show for each tier.

Aside from seeing the badges they earned on the gamification board, they will also show in the attendees' profiles.
