The Gamification Feature
This feature can be a great way to enrich your attendee's overall experience by stimulating healthy competition. Attendees can earn points by being the first few to buy tickets and the first to enter the event. Once at the event, they must work hard to get points by visiting exhibitor booths and watching all sessions. Attendees can earn points by accessing the event through a browser or the attendee app. May the most diligent attendee win!
Important Notes:
Challenges cannot be edited if your event has opened.
The challenge start date and time cannot be before the event start time.
You can only have 1 default challenge and 1 scavenger hunt challenge for Free, Starter, and Scale Plans.
Scavenger hunt challenges cannot be edited for Free and Starter Plans.
The Continuing Education Challenge is only available for Enterprise and White Label Plans.
Please remember that points are only attributed once the event has started, and the leaderboard should not populate with points during your event setup.
Event admins and staff cannot earn gamification points.

Challenges - will show more details about each challenge and the attendee's progress in each challenge.

Create Challenges
Go to Engage > Gamification
Click + Create New
Select to create a Default Challenge or Generate a Scavenger Hunt Challenge
Choose the default challenge if you want to customize your challenge. Choose the scavenger hunt if you want Accelevents to choose a standard challenge randomly and all its settings - use this to save time and effort. Below, we'll learn more about the different types of challenges.

When editing your challenge, you'll need to enter the challenge's basic information, such as name, description, start and end date, points required to complete the challenge, and reward details. Then, you'll need to set the challenge rules and requirements - where you specify which area of the event to focus on, which sessions, what actions attendees need to do to get points, and how many points they will earn for each action.
Challenge Types
When you select Default Challenge, there will be four challenge types to choose from:
1. Standard Challenge
The Standard Challenge is subdivided into 3 categories or areas:

Matches | Match with someone in a networking session |
Connection | Send a connection request in a networking session.

2. Early Bird Challenge
The Early Bird Challenge allows you to create challenges to earn points for being the first few to buy tickets or enter the event.

3.1 Scavenger Hunt
A Scavenger Hunt Challenge is a standard challenge where attendees can earn DOUBLE POINTS.
If you select "generate Scavenger Hunt Challenge" from the + Create Challenge button, it will randomly select the booth or sessions included in the standard challenge - do this if you want to save time and effort. To know exactly what challenge is created, just click edit to see the details of the challenge.
Note: You may customize the generated scavenger challenges for Scale and higher plans.
If you create the scavenger hunt from the dropdown in the challenge details, you can customize exactly what will be in your scavenger hunt.
3.2 Scavenger Hunt: QR Scan
If you create the scavenger hunt from the dropdown in the challenge details and select the area, you will see an additional option for QR Scan.
The QR Scan challenge is for in-person events only. After creating the challenge, a QR code will be generated when you re-open the challenge settings. You can download and print it, then post it in the event venue. Attendees must find the QR code and scan it through the Attendee App to get points, much like an Easter egg hunt.

Note: This is available for Enterprise and Whitelabels plans only.
