With every event, the goal is to make it as engaging as possible to catch the attention of your attendees. Our matchmaking feature allows the attendees to choose their topics of interest that will help them get matched with other attendees having the same interests in a networking session.
Creating Interest Tags
In your admin console, go to Engage.
Add Interest Tags Manually
If you only want to add a handful of topics, then typing it in would be the easiest way to do it.
Type in the topic in the field and hit enter, in this example 'Music'.
It will then be shown in the Available Tag box below.
To delete a tag, just click the X on the tag.
Take note of these requirements / criteria for Interest Tags
There is no limit to the number of tags that you can create for Legacy, Professional and Enterprise Plans (10 interest tags for other plans).
There is no character limit per interest tag.
Special characters can be used.
Same interest tags cannot be created.
More than 1 word can be used in an interest tag.
Add Interest Tags by Uploading a CSV File
If you have a lot of topics, it might be easier to organize a list and upload them all at once.
Click the Import Tags button.
Download the template.
Enter the interest tags in the template and save it.
From the open Import Items dialogue box, upload your CSV file.
Note: The CSV file should have one column with the header labeled 'Interest'.
How Can Attendees Choose Interest Tags?
Once you've added the Interest tags, attendees can select those interest tags through their profile in the virtual event hub. Click here to learn more about attendee profile editing.
From the Virtual Event Hub:
Click the name at the top right corner to load the profile page.
Scroll down to the Interest field.
Click on the Interest field to show the list of topics.
Click a topic from the dropdown to add it as your Interest.
Click Submit to save.
To remove an interest tag, just click the X.
Note: When you have the same interests as other attendees, they will show up in the 'Suggested For You' tab in 'People tab' if you'd like to connect with those attendees with the same interests.
Can Attendees Create Their Own Interest Tags?
Yes! Just make sure that you enable the toggle to Allow Attendees to Create Interest Tags
Once that's enabled, a Create Interest field will appear in the profile editor page, just above the Interest field
To create an Interest Tag in the Profile Editor:
Type in the topic then click enter.
The new topic will be added in the Interest field below.
Note: Once an attendee creates their own interest tag, it will be shown as part of the selection for other attendees too and will also be updated in the admin console.
Where Will the Interest Tags Show After Selecting It?
After adding interest tags to the profile, those tags will be seen while in a networking session. Your interest tags will be seen by the other attendee and you'll see their interest tags. It would be shown in the profile details just above the chat area.
