Using Session Polls and Q&A in the Attendee App

To keep attendees engaged in a session, they can participate in polls and ask questions through the Q&A tab. If attendees access the event through the Attendee App, they can easily see these features below the video stream. Admins and speakers can also go to the Attendee App and enter the session to participate in these activities.

Important Notes:

  • These features are still in beta, so they may not work the same way when accessed through a browser.

  • Please ensure you install the latest app version to see the latest updates.

  • Download it from the App Store or Google Play.

  • Once you log in to the app, enter the event, and join a session, you'll see an Activity tab with the Polls and Q&A section.

Attendees must join the session to participate in Polls and Q&A in the Activity area in the session.

App Session Polls

  • The polls tab will allow you to see open polls and answer them.

  • Click the arrow to expand or hide the poll.

  • After submitting your answer, you will see what you selected or poll results, depending on the event admin's setup.

  • If the poll has ended, you will see the poll results.

Important Note:

  • This feature is still in beta, so you won't get any notifications if a new poll is published.

App Session Q&A

  • The Q&A tab will allow you to view publicly submitted questions and answers and submit your questions.

  • You will have the option to submit your questions publicly or privately.

  • Only event admins can see a private question.

  • Submitted questions can only be answered through a browser.

Create and Publish Polls in the Attendee App

Event admins and session speakers can create and publish polls inside a session in the Attendee app.

  • Enter the session

  • Click Activity, then Polls

  • Click Create a Poll

  • Enter the Question and Options, choose your settings

  • Click Publish when you are done

Access Polls and Q&A in the Attendee App for In-Person Events

Instead of a "Join" button to enter the session, attendees will see a "View Details" button for in-person events.

  • Click the session, then click View Details

  • Select Activity

  • Click Polls or Q&A to participate

Disabling Session Polls and Q&A

To remove polls or Q&A features from the session, go to your session settings in the admin console. Then, in the Advanced Settings, toggle the setting off to disable either polls or Q&A. When these features are disabled, the polls or Q&A tabs will disappear from the session.
