To ensure that your event is exclusively accessible to its intended audience or to protect confidential information, Accelevents allows you to block or allow registration from specific domains or email addresses.

Restricting Registrations from Specific Email Domains or Email Addresses

To set this up, begin in the admin console:

  • Click Registration, and then click Order Form

  • In the Ticket Buyer Tab, click the pencil icon aligned to the Email field

  • Turn on the toggle to Enable limiting registration to specific email domains.

  • Go to the Registration Rules tab.

  • By default, the toggle to Set a global rule that applies to all tickets and users is turned on, allowing you to create only 1 registration rule. You can turn it off if you want to create different rules for each ticket type.

Create a Registration Rule

  • Select either Allow or Block under the Rule.

  • Select the ticket types to include in this rule.

  • Select if the rule will apply to contact lists.

  • If you're not using contacts lists, you can manually add the email addresses or domains to the field.

  • When entering addresses or domains, type it in and hit ENTER/RETURN to save.

  • Click Add another rule to set up rules for another ticket type.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add 2 rules for the same ticket type?

  • No, you can only add 1 rule for a ticket type.

Can I use the same contact list and address/domain under different rules?

  • Yes, you can reuse the same contact list, address, or domain in a different rule.

Will it work if there is a subdomain?

  • Yes, ensure that the subdomain is also included in the list.

Can I replace, remove, or add domains or email addresses anytime?

  • Yes, these actions will be reflected in real time. To remove a domain or email address from the list, click x next to it.

Is there a limit to the number of domains or email addresses I want to block or allow?

  • No. You can only enter as many domains as you need.

  • Yes, blocked email domains or email addresses can still join the waitlist.

Can they still join the registration approval if their domain or email address is blocked?

  • Yes, blocked email domains or email addresses can still join the registration approval.

Can I manually give them tickets If I want to give an exception to a blocked domain or email address?

  • No, the error will be displayed even if an event admin attempts to give them tickets.

Can a person register a blocked domain or email address if they enter the blocked domain or email address through the ticket holder field?

  • Yes, while a domain or email address that has been blocked may still be able to register if entered via the ticket holder, our team is currently working on adding an option to block email domains or email addresses directly for this field. This will provide an additional layer of security and prevent the blocked domain or email address from being used to register.

If a specific domain or email address has already registered and I block it, will they be able to enter the event?

  • Yes. It's important to note that the block on a specific email domain or address will only take effect after it has been entered and saved. This means that any email domains or addresses that have successfully registered before the block is implemented will still be able to access the event as they already have a ticket.
