To ensure that your event is exclusively accessible to its intended audience or to protect confidential information, Accelevents allows you to block or allow registration from specific domains or email addresses.

Restricting Registrations from Specific Email Domains or Email Addresses

To set this up, begin in the admin console:

  • Click Registration, and then click Order Form

  • In the Ticket Buyer Tab, click the pencil icon aligned to the Email field

  • Enable the toggle Limit registration to specific email domains under Advanced settings. Then, choose whether you'll be blocking or allowing specific domains.

Blocking Specific Email Domains or Email Addresses

Email domains or specific email addresses added in this setting will not be permitted to register for your event. Type the email domain in the box, and hit ENTER/RETURN for the setting to save. You must enter the domains one by one and click the Save button when you are done, as shown below:

When individuals with a blocked domain or email address attempt to register for your event, they will receive an error message stating, "Registration is not permitted with your email address." They will not be able to proceed with their registration.

Allowing Specific Email Domains

Only domains or email addresses specifically entered as "Allowed" will be eligible for registration to your event. Type the allowed domains or email addresses in the box, and hit ENTER/RETURN for the setting to save. Again, you must enter the domains or email addresses one by one and click the Save button when you are done, as shown below:

Anyone attempting to register with a domain or email address that's not on the list cannot proceed with the registration process.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it work if there is a subdomain?

  • Yes, ensure that the subdomain is also included in the list.

Can I specify which ticket types blocking or allowing email domains will apply to?

  • No, blocking or allowing email domains or email addresses will apply to all tickets.

Can I replace, remove, or add domains or email addresses anytime?

  • Yes, these actions will be reflected in real-time. To remove a domain or email address from the list, click x next to it.

Is there a limit to the number of domains or email addresses I want to block or allow?

  • No. You can only enter as many domains as you need.

Can they still join the waitlist if their domain or email address is blocked?

  • Yes, blocked email domains or email addresses can still join the waitlist.

Can they still join the registration approval if their domain or email address is blocked?

  • Yes, blocked email domains or email addresses can still join the registration approval.

Can I manually give them tickets If I want to give an exception to a blocked domain or email address?

  • No, the error message "Registration is not permitted with your email address" will still appear; hence, you cannot issue them a ticket manually.

Can a blocked domain or email address register if they entered the blocked domain or email address through the ticket holder field?

  • Yes, while a domain or email address that has been blocked may still be able to register if entered via the ticket holder, our team is currently working on adding an option to block email domains or email addresses directly for this field. This will provide an additional layer of security and prevent the blocked domain or email address from being used to register.

If a specific domain or email address has already registered and I block it, will they be able to enter the event?

  • Yes. It's important to note that the block on a specific email domain or address will only take effect after it has been entered and saved. This means that any email domains or addresses that have successfully registered before the block is implemented will still be able to access the event as they already have a ticket.
