Design The Badge

For this example, we will be using an A6 thermal paper, where the size of the paper is 4x6, so we're selecting that template size for the badge design. It should work on single and double-sided templates.

Configure the Printer

Settings

  • Darkness: choose a darker setting (e.g., 19.0) so the text printout is legible.

  • Print Speed: choose a lower speed setting (e.g., 2.0) so the printout is clear.

  • Media Type: Auto Detect

Network

In this example, we're using a wired network. The printer and the iPad should be connected to the same network/router. If you're using a printer that has wifi, you can choose that option for the active printer server and primary network.

  • Active Print Server: Wired

  • Primary Network: Wired

  • Wired IP Address: a default IP will show - take note of this. You will need it for your iPad settings (e.g., 192.168.000.033)

  • IP Port: 6101

Configure the Admin App

The check-in page badge printing feature will work on iPad, iPhone, and Android phones. The kiosk badge printing will only be available through an iPad.

iPad Settings

  • Log in to the Admin App

  • Click the 3-line menu at the upper-left corner

  • Go to Settings

  • Select Printing

  • Turn on the toggle for Enable Printing

  • For the Network Address field, copy the Wired IP Address from the printer network settings. (e.g., 192.168.000.033)

  • For the Port Number: 6101

  • Click Connect Printer

  • You should get a notification alert Connected and a Connected Printer status below the enable printing toggle.

Mobile Settings

  • Log in to the Admin App

  • Click your profile at the upper-left corner

  • Select Printer Setup

  • Turn on the toggle for Enable Printing

  • For the Network Address field, copy the Wired IP Address from the printer network settings. (e.g., 192.168.000.033)

  • For the Port Number: 6101

  • Click Connect Printer

  • You should get a notification alert Connected and a Connected Printer status below the enable printing toggle.

Once you have everything, you can start printing badges through the check-in page and kiosk.
