How to Access the Virtual Event Hub
The Virtual Event Hub is the page or portal where the virtual event is happening. This article explains how admins and attendees can access the virtual event hub and highlights the key differences in their views.
Overview of the Virtual Event Hub
The virtual event hub serves as the primary interface for virtual events. It allows attendees to engage with event content and provides admins with tools to manage and oversee the event. For in-person event formats, the virtual event hub is not available on desktop; attendees access the event site through the mobile app.
Access for Admins
Admins can access the virtual event hub without registering as attendees, and can enter anytime even if the event is not yet open. This allows admins to check the features and other content that they've added in advance.
The easiest way to access this is to click the VIEW SITE button from the event's admin console, and select View Virtual Event Hub.
Access for Speakers and Exhibitors
Speakers and Exhibitor can also enter the virtual event hub without a ticket. When they are added to sessions or booths, they will receive an email that will allow them to access the Speaker Hub or Exhibitor Portal inside the virtual event hub. They can enter anytime even if the event is not yet open. This allows them to prepare for their sessions in advance and add content to their booths.
If the event is in-person, they can still access the speaker hub and exhibitor portal in the virtual event hub.
If they are accessing the event before the event opens, they won't see any other menus in the hub except for speaker hub or exhibitor portal.
The easiest way to access the virtual event hub is to click a link or a button from the invite email they receive.
Access for Attendees
Attendees need a ticket that has virtual access to enter the virtual event hub. If their ticket has in-person access only, they won't be able to log in to the hub. Attendees may only enter if the event is open (pre-event access).
The easiest way to access the virtual event hub for attendees is to click the "Jon Event" button from the order confirmation email that they receive. With one click, they will be logged in to the event, without having to enter their email address or password.
Manually Log In to The Virtual Event Hub
From the landing page, click the Enter Event button. This button will only be clickable if the event is open
Enter your email and password
Alternatively, you can request a magic link that will automatically log you in without using a password
Access the Event Through the Attendee App
The term "virtual event hub" is more often used when we are referring to the hub that is accessed through a browser. Although most functions are the same in the browser and in the app, it's easier to mention virtual event hub or attendee app when differentiating them.
Admins can access the app any time without a ticket.
Speakers and Exhibitor can also access without a ticket, but will only be able to access it when it opens, just like for attendees.
To log in to the attendee app, the app should be downloaded to your device. The best way to log in is to use a magic link.
The links from the speaker and exhibitor invite emails will not log them in to the app, that's only applicable for the virtual event hub browser.
