Create an Event for Testing Only

A test event is a great way to explore the platform’s features and functionality without affecting your live event’s settings.

If your event includes gamification or continuing education, these features can’t be fully tested within the actual event since results are only visible once the event is live. Creating a test event allows you to confirm that everything is configured correctly ahead of time.

A test event can also serve as a training environment for moderators and speakers, giving them the opportunity to get comfortable with the studio controls at their own pace.

Test the Features as a New Accelevents User

If you're new in Accelevents and you're curious about how Accelevents work, you can create as many test events as you need, and they are free. This is what's included in the Free Plan:

  • Only 1 calendar day event

  • Limited to 25 participants for virtual events; this includes admins, speakers, attendees, and booth staff. One person can be assigned different roles and counted only as one if they use the same email.

  • 10 sessions

  • 2 ticket types

  • 15 exhibitor booths

  • Virtual Event Hub tabs renaming

When to Create or Duplicate an Event for Testing?

When creating an event just for testing, you can create a new one from scratch or duplicate your real event, depending on your purpose or goals.

If you're rehearsing with speakers, we suggest creating a new event with 1 session and add your speakers to that session. If your goal is to get them familiar with the Studio, then do this. Simple and fast.

If you duplicate an event, this will have all your sessions, you'll have to adjust the date and time for each. This may take you some time to set up. And also, when you duplicate, make sure to check which items you're duplicating (e.g. you don't need to duplicate your exhibitors and send an email too if this event is for speaker testing)

If you're testing a feature that you cannot test unless the event is live like gamification or continuing education, it might be better to duplicate as it will take you some time to re-do all of the challenges and criteria.

Notes:

  • Do not publish your test event

  • Add "test" to your event URL to ensure that the registrations there do not count toward your billable and usable event credits.
