The Lobby Custom Tab

If you have additional information that you want attendees to see in the event, you can add a custom tab in the event hub's lobby, available in the browser and attendee app. You can add text, images, and more to customize your lobby tab, or you can choose to add a page URL and have that page open in the browser or in the attendee app.

Notes:

  • The redirect URL is best used with the attendee app, it may not work for some pages if viewed from the virtual event hub.

  • The Lobby Custom tab will appear in the virtual event hub. It will not appear in the attendee app, you'll need to create a separate page for the app in Event Design > Mobile App.

Add a Lobby Custom Tab in the Virtual Event Hub

  • Go to the Event Design > Event Hub of your admin console.

  • Select Lobby

  • Click + Add Custom Tab

The lobby custom tab will appear as one of the tabs under the virtual event hub's lobby menu.

Custom Lobby Tab Settings

  • Name - This is the display name.

  • Button Icon - Upload a button image to be displayed in the attendee app.

  • Button Action - Select an action for the button: either open a custom page to add personalized content or redirect to a URL within the app or an external browser. The redirect URL is best used with the attendee app, it may not work for some pages if viewed from the virtual event hub.

  • Content - You can use it for almost anything. You can add text, images, videos, media players, social media pages, games, etc. By embedding a code, you can easily add widgets from other sites.

  • Add Widget - use this if you want to add a filtered agenda button in the app, instead of the full agenda. You can also use this to have a speaker button in the app, as speakers are nested under the agenda.

  • Restrict Access - This is optional. If enabled, you can select which ticket types can view and access the custom tab.

Notes:

  • The Redirect to URL feature is best used for the attendee app. Some pages may load in the virtual event hub, however for most pages, including the event landing page URL, won't load and ask you to open the page in another tab. For now, if you're using the virtual event hub we suggest adding the the URL to an iframe and it as a custom content. We're are improving this feature, stay tuned for updates!

  • If you're Redirecting to a URL and the page loads, and attendees click on buttons on the page, they can be redirected to the connected pages, however there are some actions that may not allow them to move forward, such as logging in to an account (if it's a log in page). The URL is meant for viewing so other actions may not work. Please ensure to test it.
