The Quiz Feature

The Quiz feature is intended to be used by universities and schools that want to measure their students' knowledge about their courses through quizzes. This feature is used together with the Continuing Education feature to track whether an attendee passed or failed, and generate a certificate when they pass.

How Does It Work?

The quiz will be created through the survey feature wherein quiz mode will be selected, the questions and answers will be added, and the correct answers will be marked. The quiz will be associated to the session, a certificate will be designed (optional) and the continuing education criteria will be set as to who can participate and the passing score in percentage.

When an attendee gets a passing score after submitting the quiz, the certificate will be generated in the analytics, which the event admin can download and send to the attendee.

What is Required to Pass the Quiz?

Attendees must answer the quiz while logged in and get a passing score.

Example: Your attendees need to get 8 out of 10 correct answers in the quiz. You need to enter 80% as the passing score in the continuing education criteria.

How Will Attendees Know If They Passed the Quiz?

Attendees will not see a progress bar or any kind of automatic notification when they pass or fail the quiz. They won't see their score posted anywhere. They will only know that they have passed when the event admin sends them the certificate or informs them of their score.

After answering the quiz, attendees can review their answers when they access the quiz link again. Although they will not know their score and which questions they got correctly.

How Will Admins Know if Attendees Passed the Quiz?

Continuing Education analytics are provided in real time. You can check them in the Analytics tab, then select Continuing Education. It will show you a list of attendees, their quiz percentage, and downloadable reports.

You will know that a attendee passed the quiz by looking at the Quiz Percentage column, if they get the same or higher percentage that you indicated in the continuing education criteria, that means they have passed. If you associated a certificate to your continuing education criteria, you should see a Download Certificate button on the right side when they pass.

Currently there is no option to automatically send the certificate to the attendee, so you must download it and send it to them.

If you need to determine the attendees raw score, you must download the report to see their answers and create filters and formulas to get their score. For now, our system can only determine whether they have passed or failed.

Steps to Setup the Quiz and Continuing Education Criteria

1. Create a Quiz

  • Go to Engage > Surveys

  • Click Create Survey

  • Add the quiz's basic information

  • Ensure that the toggle to Restrict Access to Event Attendees is turned on as attendees can only be marked as passed if they are logged in when answering the quiz

  • Enable the Quiz Functionality by turning on the toggle

  • Go to the questions tab and add a dropdown question. The quiz functionality will only work with dropdown questions.

  • Select which of the options is the correct answer by clicking the check mark.

  • By default, the question will always be included when counting their score, but if their answer to the question shouldn't have any bearing on their score, turn on the toggle for Unscored.

  • Save your quiz when you're done adding questions.

2. Associate the Quiz to the Session

Note: It's required to do this step before creating the continuing education criteria

  • Go to Event Content > Agenda

  • Open the session for editing

  • Go to Advanced Settings

  • Enable the toggle for post session survey

  • Select the quiz from the select survey dropdown

4. Create the Certificate (optional)

  • Go to Engage > CE Credits

  • Select Certificates

  • Click + Create Certificate

  • Create the certificate attendees will receive when they pass

5. Create the Continuing Education Criteria

  • Go to Engage > CE Credits

  • Click + Create Criteria

  • Enter the name and description

Note: The image does not show anywhere in the platform, we're improving this feature, stay tuned for updates!

  • Go to the Requirements tab

  • Select which ticket types can participate

  • Select which sessions or session tracks (with associated quizzes) to include

  • Select Survey Sumbission as completion method

  • Enter the required quiz score percentage to pass

  • Select which certificate would generate when the attendee completes the requirements.

  • Click Create to save the criteria.

Notes:

  • Even though in this criteria we are not requiring attendees to watch the session, we still need to select the session to determine which quiz is included in this criteria.

  • You can no longer edit the criteria if the event has already opened.

  • Attendees can answer the quiz directly in the session or through the link.

  • CE Credits earned is not working yet, stay tuned for updates!
