Have Registrants Skip Order Form Fields And Complete Them Later
When registering for an event, filling out the registration questions all at once can be tedious especially when buying multiple tickets and each attendee information has to be filled out. The Progressive Registration Form feature can mitigate it by allowing registrants to answer vital questions first and complete the rest of the information at their convenience.
How Does It Work?
When you enable this setting, registrants will see the fields you want them to fill out during registration and hide the rest that they can fill out later. Then, you can send them an email to complete the rest of the information by logging in to My Registrations where all registration fields will appear.
Notes:
The Allow attendee to edit information setting must be enabled when using this feature.
The field must be set to active even though you are hiding the question during registration.
This feature will not work with conditional questions, although you may still see the setting.
Hide the Field During Registration
In Registration > Order Form open the setting of the field you want to hide during registration. In the Settings tab, select "Hide this field during registration" and select which ticket types cannot see this field during registration.
In the example below, we hid the Shipping Address field to all ticket types, so it's not showing on the registration page.
Schedule an Engage Email
To ensure that your registrants log in to their account to complete the rest of the questions in the order form, you can schedule an engage email to remind them.
Include the $RegistrationPageForHolder
merge tag. This merge tag automatically logs them in to their account and redirects them to the My Registrations page when clicked.
You can add it in the URL field of a button or as a link in the email. If it's added as a link, the label will appear as "Registration Page Link" in the actual email.
Attendees Complete the Answers in My Registration
When they receive the email and click the link or button, it takes them to My Registration wherein they can click "Registration Details" to see the tickets under that order. Then, they need to click "Edit Details" in each ticket to update their information.
The updates done in My Registration will also reflect in the order in the admin console.
