Schedule an Email to Follow Up Credit Card Payments
Aside from sending the payment link from the orders tab, you can now send an email to all your buyers with a pending balance to follow up on the payment. You can include the payment link in the email where they can settle the payment due through credit card. This feature works if you have a payment processor connected to your event.
This can be used for orders with an "unpaid" payment type / order status, "Pay Later" / "Deposit" tickets, and invoiced ticket exchanges (to higher priced tickets).
Create an Engage Email for those with Balance Due
When you create your Engage Email, select Balance Due from the recipient list.
Note: The email will be sent to Buyers only. If the buyer has multiple orders with balance due, they will receive multiple emails.
Add the Payment Link to the Email
To add a payment link to the email, you must add the Payment Link merge tag. Click on a text element in the template, click Merge Tag from the menu that appears and copy the merge tag $PaymentLink
You can add it to a button where you usually add the URL. Don't mind the error that it needs a URL, it's still going to work.
Note: When you send a test email, the link / button won't work, but it should work when you send the email to buyers with a pending balance.
After you schedule / send the email, only the buyers with a pending balance will receive an email when the email is sent.
When the button or link is clicked from the email, it will redirect them to a page where they can enter their credit card information to settle the order's balance.
All items in the order must be settled, there is no option to pay a deposit or settle the charge for 1 item only.
The link will work for invoiced orders, unpaid orders and orders with partial payment / deposit payment.
If they've already paid before the email is sent, they will not receive an email anymore as the Balance Due recipient list is a dynamic list that updates depending on the attendees' payment status.
If you send the payment link to someone who has no pending balance, they will get an alert that the "Ticket is already paid" when they click the link.
