Add the ${viewTicketMagicLink} to the Email
During registration, attendees may have skipped some fields or perhaps you have additional questions that aren't available when they registered. To ensure that attendees fill out the needed information, you can send a follow up email that has the ${viewTicketMagicLink} merge tag. The merge tag is available in the order confirmation email, reminder email and engage email.
How Does it Work?
When they click on the link or button in the email that has that merge tag, they will be logged in to their account and redirected to their order in My Registrations. From there, they can update their information.
Before you begin
Before you begin, please ensure that you've done the following:
✅ Attendees are allowed to edit their information
✅ Understand how merge tags work and where to find them when creating emails
✅ Understand how attendees can edit their information
Send an Email to Update Their Information
The ${viewTicketMagicLink} merge tag is available in engage emails, order confirmation and reminder emails. You can add it in the URL field of a button or as a hyperlink in the email. If it's added as a merge tag to the body of the email, the label will appear as "View Tickets" in the actual email.
This merge tag automatically logs them in to their account and redirects to the particular order in My Registrations. From that page, they can click Edit to update their information.
Notes:
You can ignore the "Please enter a URL." error when you add the merge tag to a button's URL or hyperlink.
You can also use the
${RegistrationPageForHolder}merge tag in Engage. This merge tag automatically logs them in to their account and redirects them to the My Orders page in My Registrations, this merge tag shows all their orders. If it's added as a merge tag to the body, the label will appear as "Registration Page Link" in the actual email.
