The Template Builder allows you to customize your pages and emails with your brand and personalized content. This editor is available in various areas in your admin console.

In this quick start guide, we'll briefly cover all of the features inside of the template builder.

When you open the builder, there are two primary sections:

  • Template - This is where you drop content blocks and rows while designing. This is the section on the left side of the screen.

  • Sidebar - This is where many of the design elements can be customized. This is the section on the right side of the screen.

There is an icon that separates the template and the sidebar. You can use this to minimize the sidebar at any time.

To begin designing the template, select a design element from the sidebar. The sidebar includes three tabs for creating content.

Settings

The settings tab allows you to set defaults for your entire design. When working with rows and content, those design elements inherit these settings. This is also where you can set the Meta Data for the page.

Rows

Rows are the primary structural element for designs created in the template builder. Within your rows, you can customize the column structure. With a multi-column row, you can place content side-by-side in your design. Most importantly, rows act as a container for all of your content blocks.

Content

You can use several content blocks while designing in the template builder. All content blocks include padding settings and hide-on settings in the sidebar.

Note: The settings and content vary depending on what you're creating. For example, if you're creating pages, you'll have the option to add event widgets, but this is not available for emails. The merge tags available also depend on which page or email you're editing.

Editing in the Template Builder

Add an Item

Drag the content from the right-side menu and drop it onto the template.

Move an item

Hover over the content in the template, click the drag icon, and drag the content to where you want it placed.

Delete an Item

Click the content, then click the trash icon at the lower right.

Edit an item

Click the content, then type directly on the template for text content. You will see a toolbar above the text where you can customize the color and font, add links and characters, merge tags, and more. The right-side menu will show the other content properties you can change, such as alignment and spacing.

Some content may be edited directly in the template, like uploading an image or editing the button text. The rest of the editing options are on the right-side menu.

Add Rows & Columns

Click the Rows tab from the right menu to choose a format on columns and drag it to the template. To add content inside the columns, drag the items to the inside of the column containers. You can use this if you want content to show side by side.

Edit the template background color

Click the Settings tab from the right menu. In addition to changing the background color of the whole template, you'll see other options, such as widening the content area and changing the alignment, default font, and link color.

Add Merge Tags

Add merge tags to your email to make it more directed toward the recipient, or add them to pages to reflect the event information. The system will replace these variables with the buyer's contact information or event information present in our system.

For example, you can place a merge tag for the first name in an email template so that the greeting includes the recipient's name rather than a generic "Hello!".

To see the available merge tags, click on the text content in your template, then click Merge Tags from the toolbar above the text.

File Manager Limitations

  • The following file extensions cannot be uploaded to the file manager: js, cjs, mjs, •php, -phtml,-php3, -php4,-php5, -php/, -phps, -php-s, -pht, -phar, HTML, •zip, rar, and archive file formats.

  • The maximum allowed file size you can upload is 20MB.

  • You can't move files from one folder to another one. This is because the upload location determines the URL path for your file. Moving the file would change the URL and break the link anywhere it's currently in use.

  • If you are uploading an image that is wider than 1920 pixels, the integrity of the image may be altered upon upload or import. The image will be resized to be no wider than 1920px. In other cases, the colors may change, and gifs may lose frames. Make sure that any images that you upload are no wider than 1920px.
