The Continuing Education Challenge

This challenge is designed for universities / schools that want to track their student's progress in completing an online lesson or course. Unlike the other gamification challenges, the Continuing Education Challenge will have no points; it will only show the attendee's progress.

Note: This feature is available for Enterprise and White Label Plans only

How Will Attendees Complete a Continuing Education Challenge?

To complete a Continuing Education Challenge, attendees must do all these required actions:

  • Watch all the live sessions (not replay) that are part of the challenge

  • Reach the minimum required watch time (percentage) per session

Attendees cannot complete the challenge if they miss one of the required actions.

For this challenge to work, the sessions should not be concurrent or overlapping so that attendees will have the chance to watch all the live sessions.

Example:

You have listed 2 sessions that are an hour long each as part of your Continuing Education Challenge. You required attendees to watch at least 45 minutes per session.

  • Attendee 1

    • Watched session 1 live for 45 minutes

    • Watched session 2 live for 50 minutes

    • The attendee completed the challenge because they watched all the live sessions and reached the minimum required watch time.

  • Attendee 2

    • Watched session 1 live for 45 minutes

    • Watched session 2 live for 30 minutes

    • The attendee did not complete the challenge because they weren't able to watch at least 45 minutes of session 2

  • Attendee 3

    • Watched session 1 live for 45 minutes

    • Watched session 2 replay for 45 minutes

    • The attendee did not complete the challenge because they couldn't watch session 2 live.

How is the Watch Percentage Computed?

The watch percentage is based on how long the broadcast lasted. It is not based on the session duration.

So if your session is an hour long, but you went over the allotted time and extended for 10 more minutes (70 minutes total), and you required attendees to watch at least 50% of the live session, then anyone who watches at least 35 minutes of the session qualifies to complete the challenge.

Note: If the attendee leaves the session or gets disconnected and comes back later, the attendee can still qualify as long as they reach the minimum required watch time.

How Will Attendees Know If They Have Completed the Continuing Education Challenge?

To know their progress, attendees can check the Challenges tab in the Gamification board in the Virtual Event Hub Lobby. The grey circle will gradually turn the outline to blue as they progress and, once completed, will change to a green circle with a checkmark.

How Will Admins Know If Attendees Have Completed the Continuing Education Challenge?

Continuing Education analytics are provided in real time. You can check them in the Analytics tab, then select Continuing Education. It will show you a list of attendees participating in the challenge, their progress, and downloadable reports.

The Download button on top will give you a summary report on the selected continuing education challenge.

The table in the Continuing Education analytics shows the following:

  • Attendee Name

  • Last Activity Date

  • Challenge

  • Progress

  • Download

The Progress column will show you the percentage of completed required actions they did for this challenge.

Example:

You have listed 3 sessions that are an hour long each as part of your Continuing Education Challenge. You require attendees to watch at least 30 minutes per session.

  • Attendee 1 watched session 1 for 30 minutes, session 2 for 45 minutes, and session 3 for 1 hour. The Progress will be 100%

  • Attendee 2 watched session 1 for 10 minutes, session 2 for 45 minutes, and session 3 for 1 hour. The Progress will be 66%

Attendee 2 got 66% because they completed only 2/3 of the challenge.

The Download button for each attendee row will show you their progress % for each session.

In the example, we said that Attendee 2 completed only 2 out of 3 sessions. Session 1 from the screenshot above at 43.7% is the session the attendee could not complete. They needed 50% or more to complete it.
